Benefits of Legalizing of Steroids
Steroids is perhaps one of the most well known illegal synthetic drug known to most people. I have been very interested in this topic on steroid since the day I picked up my first bodybuilding magazine. Most of us who wants to achieve a perfect physique tend to resort to useless diets, strenuous exercises and even risky surgeries. I have seen some people struggle with their diet and in the end leads to anorexia or bulimia disorders just to look slim. If steroids was consider legal and be used in moderation and supervision, it will save lives and prevent disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. it will not just boost the health industry profits but also generate a large revenue for the government if it is tax. Steroids should not be treated as an illegal drug and should be viewed in a positive manner in a sense that it is beneficial to us humans. The legalizing of steroids will be viewed in three aspect that steroids boosts one's physical performance, leads to a healthier lifestyle and it saves lives. The media has portray the dangers of steroids in a dramatic way that they have turn a blind eye to new drugs in the market that have not been approved by the FDA which cause more problems than steroids would. I personally think steroids should be legal since it was first created to help prevent atrophy or muscle wastage diseases.

Very interesting topic. I'm very interested to see what kind of evidence you are going to research and use in your paper to support your point of view.
ReplyDeleteSome things you'll have to keep in mind is that you need to research what particular steroids do: most are for show only, and the muscle being gained is usually weaker than the original muscle mass. This makes a skinnier man or woman be able to bench press probably more than a man or woman taking steroids could. Therefore, think about the reason the person is taking steroids: is it to be stronger or just to look better? Furthermore, the negativity surrounding steroids usually tends to be about "cheating," because better performance using drugs isn't natural. Is this any different than drinking incessant amounts of coffee to stay awake and train though? I don't know.
Lastly, steroids can cause addiction of the mind just like anorexia and bulimia is. So, are using steroids just another negative addiction just like someone who is starving themselves? Either way, bad things can happen. Therefore, really think about emphasizing how moderation is always key.
I'm very curious to see how this paper and topic turns out! I think you have chosen a very good one.
